“LCBO Stores raise funds for
LUPUS FOUNDATION OF ONTARIO ”

Beginning November 1, 2010 , anyone can make donations to LUPUS FOUNDATION OF ONTARIO at any of the more than 600 LCBO stores throughout Ontario . Donation boxes for LUPUS FOUNDATION OF ONTARIO will be displayed until November 30, 2010 .

LUPUS FOUNDATION OF ONTARIO is marking our 33rd Anniversary serving the citizens of Ontario .  Our mission has been to raise funds for research and to improve the lives of people living with lupus through education, public awareness, advocacy and support.

“We thank the LCBO, its employees and customers for providing this opportunity to improve the lives of people living with lupus and to further educate the public about the realities of lupus through the province-wide network of LCBO’s stores,” said Foundation President, Tom Mather.

LCBO President and CEO Bob Peter states, “LCBO’s customers and staff have always responded generously to worthy causes and we thank everyone for providing a positive change to so many lives.”

LUPUS FOUNDATION OF ONTARIO is one of 26 provincial, as well as numerous local charities, that will benefit from the LCBO’s province-wide donation box programme in 2010.  In 2009, a total of $4.2 million was raised for charities.  LCBO’s annual dividend transfer to the Ontario government totalled $1.41 billion which supports a wide range of government programmes that include health care and education.
