| WHO WE ARE |
|
The
Lupus Foundation of Ontario was founded in 1977 to serve the lupus
patient community. Incorporated
and registered as a non-profit charitable organization, we provide
information and support to the thousands who seek assistance.
Semi-annual newsletters, “Lupus Talk”, a complete library of
books and informative articles are available to all members and the
public to assist in learning about lupus, developing life skills and
coping strategies. Periodic
seminars are held with varying topics and demonstrations available. The
Lupus Foundation of Ontario maintains an active program of support to
family physicians through the distribution of literature on a
province-wide basis and provides funds annually to a number of research
projects and treatment facilities. By
participating in national “October is Lupus Awareness Month” and
“May l0th World Lupus Day” campaigns, we promote greater public
awareness and facilitate earlier diagnosis through knowledge of the
disease. Each
May, Lupus Foundation of Ontario participates in a Walk to raise
much-needed funding for public awareness initiatives, up-to-date
literature and materials and research. Please contact our office for further information as to how you
may participate in this worthwhile event. If
