2- Frequently Asked Questions

2.1 Question - The screen colours look funny, why?

Answer - The pre-selected screen colour may not look too good, especially if you are using a monitor set to only 256 colours. Adjust the colours to ones that do look OK on your computer, you can do this in Step 1 and then save them for future use.

2.2 Question - The Taskbar at the bottom of my screen obscures the lower part of the Calli-Graphic screen, what can I do about it.

Answer - This will happen if you are using 640 x 480 screen resolution. You can;

User a higher screen resolution, Calli-Graphic looks better at 800 x 600, or

Hide the Taskbar until needed. To do this, follow these steps

1 Click on the START button at the bottom left of the screen
2 Click on SETTINGS
3 Click on TASKBAR
4 Check the AUTOHIDE button

The Taskbar will then hide itself automatically until the mouse cursor is close to the bottom of the screen.

2.3 Question - When I enter the number of copies I want printed in the Printer Selection screen in Step 3 this does not appear in the Copies Box in Step 5, why?

Answer - If your printer supports multiple copies (i.e. collating) then the number of copies will transfer over, if your printer does not support collating then it will not. This is a function of the software that operates the printer. Just enter the number of copies you want in Step 5.

2.4 Question - In the Preview Window the line spacing doesn't always seem very even, will this affect the printing?

Answer - The Preview window is there to give you an idea of how the lines will look on your page, it's a reminder to check the orientation, line length etc. Calli-Graphic calculates where the lines will be relative to the "page" on the preview screen, but the accuracy to which they can be displayed is limited by the screen resolution, consequently sometimes the spacing does not look too even. Don't worry this will not affect the printing

2.5 Question- Sometimes the Orientation gets mixed up, Portrait looks like Landscape and vice-versa, why?

Answer - Generally it is clear what is Landscape and what is Portrait but in some cases, particularly with envelopes, this is not the case. Some printers print envelopes sideways and others longways. In either event the preview picture shows how the lines will print.

2.6 Question - The line spacing for the Pre-Programmed hands do not match the ones I'm used to, why?

Answer - The Pre-Programmed settings are a guide only, you can change any setting you wish or completely ignore the Pre-Programmed settings and enter your own directly

2.7 Question -When I press the "Continue" button a message appears: "Run-time error '13' - Type mismatch". I am using Regional Settings which use the comma(,) for decimal separation.

Answer - This problem has been corrected in Calli-Graphic Version 1.0.5 and higher.

2.8 Question - Why can't find the settings I have saved.

Answer - Calli-Graphic looks for files with a .cal extension when looking for saved settings, if .cal was not used then either type in the name you used to save the file or click on the buttin adjacent to the box entitled "Files of type" and select "All", (Version 1.0.3 and higher)

3 Installation problems

3.1 When I try to install Calli-Graphic from my hard drive it says "Cannot find the source file A:\DISK1/AsycFilt.dlt" to install. What can I do?

Answer 1 - Ensure you do not have a disk in Drive A:. It is likely you computer is setup to look for files in drive A: first. Alternatively copy the files to floppies and install from them.

3.2 Calli-Graphic will not install I get a message that says " C:\windows\setup1.exe is write protected"

Answer - This file has been left over from a previous installation of a different program. To install Calli-Graphic do the following;
Go to the C:\Windows folder and single (left) click on the setup1.exe program to highlight it.
With setup1.exe highlighted (right) click and then (left) click on "properties".
Click on the checkbox next to Read Only to uncheck it.
Load Calli-Graphic again i.e. run C:\callitemp\setup.exe.
