Majuscules (Upper Case)

 

Majuscules, or upper case letters, are written with a height of 7 nib widths.

'I, E, F'

The letter "I" is essentially a straight line inclined to the vertical about 5 degrees.

Often the straight line is written with a slight curve to enhance the appearance of the letter.

The pen angle is 30 degrees

'E & F' are form with the addition of the appropriate horizontal lines.


 

'L & T'

The letters 'L & T' are formed in a similar manner


'H & J'

The letter 'H' is formed with two uprights , (two letter 'I's) and a cross piece.

The letter 'J' is similar to the 'I' but with a tail as shown


'O & Q'

The Letters 'O & Q' are based on an ellipse, as shown
