Maple Leaf Marksmen

December, 2000 Newsletter

For those members unable to attend the December 10th, 2000 Annual General Meeting, it was decided to put out this information bulletin. All of the proposed amendments, which you received in the last bulletin, were passed at the A.G.M. The number of directors on the Board has now been changed to fifteen, down from the previous twenty-one. Ten Directors at large were also elected during the A.G.M. The following were elected to a two year term: Sherman Arnold, Colin Smith, John Kellaway, Dan Everret and Bob Wright. The following were elected to a one year term: Gib Bulpit, Joe Savoia, Mark Stevens, John Dean and Herb Wismer.

The following people were elected as your 2001 executive: President-Jack Clinton, VicePresident-Bob Clendennin, Treasurer-Steve Turner, Secretary-Norm Botts and Recording Secretary-Marko Jugley. The executive members automatically hold a seat on the Board of Directors, which brings the total on the Board to 15. The Board of Directors have been meeting the first Sunday of each month in the club house at 11:00 a.m.

Also a special thanks to the outgoing directors, your help has been invaluable and reaffirms the value of volunteerism to this club.

The club has received from the CPFO a letter approving the range until March 31st, 2001. It is also hoped that, with the completion of the berm as per his recommendations, the club will then receive full approval.

At the annual general meeting it was decided to raise the fee for club membership by $10.00. Therefore the regular membership will now be $140; retired, student or disabled will be $125. Any additional family member will remain at $10. Please note that this new fee schedule comes into effect January 1st, 2001. Avoid the fee increase, pay Steve Turner by December 31st, 2000! (The $10 increase is the direct result of increases in daily operating costs at the club.)

One way that we may be able to reduce club expenses is for all members who have e-mail, to send your e-mail address to Steve Turner (stebev78@hotmail.com). By giving us your e-mail address, we will be able to send you club bulletins and updates electronically and save on postage.

Reminder to all members with carry permits. Permits expire February 1st, 2001 and must be renewed before then to avoid lengthy paperwork. Please see Norm Botts as soon as possible.

Reminder that the Polar Bear League Party is being held at Duff's on Sunday, January 21st, 2001.

Seasons Greetings from the
Executive, Board of Directors
and all the other Bull Shooters!
