We have some announcements to share with all of you prior to the start of January:
First, we have had to make a major change in the way that our club purchases its liability insurance. As a result, all members who have paid for 2004 are now members of the C.S.S.A. and have their liability insurance through them. Any member who has not paid their dues for 2004 MUST NOT USE THE CLUB until he/she pays for the 2004 year and you have the C.S.S.A. membership in your hand. Those who are not paid up members do not have liability insurance and the club does not assume any liability for their safety or the safety of their guests. To avoid any such problems, you must pay your full dues and have a C.S.S.A. membership number before January 1, 2004 or before you use the facilities. If for some reason your C.S.S.A. membership card does not arrive in 1 to 2 weeks please contact the C.S.S.A directly or Norm Botts.
The board of directors and the 2004 executive would like to thank our outgoing President Jack Clinton for all of the years of leadership, guidance, dedication and hard work. We all wish Jack well in his retirement from the presidency and trust that he will continue to offer his invaluable aid to the new executive and to the board.
The new executive members are: President John Kellaway; Vice-President Bob Clendennin; Treasurer Steve Turner; Club Secretary Norm Botts; and Recording Secretary Marko Jugley. Please feel free to contact any of them with your concerns or suggestions.
Norm Botts would like to remind all those members who have their carry permits through our club that you must fill in the appropriate form for renewal and return it to him by mid January if you do not wish to have your permit expire.
The executive would like to thank all of the club members who came out to support and participate in this year's Turkey Shoot. The number of shooters participating was significantly down from past years. If you have any suggestions on how to make next year's shoot more successful please let the executive or board members know. We must try to promote the safety associated with shooting and the turkey shoot is one of our best methods.
Something new we are trying in this newsletter is the inclusion of a calendar that has been made to list all shooting events from now to the end of April 2004. We hope that this will encourage more members to come out and shoot on days when events are scheduled.
Once again have a very enjoyable festive season and a safe and prosperous start to the new year.
