This opening is in the loft area, a walkthrough area. We almost had a knee brace here!

Hand painted and fired tiles complete the kitchen backsplash. A well known Ontario artist did this work.

Before we built we saw this error in another home. The post consumes the entire cabinet. We decided to do the kitchen area without knee braces to allow as much room as possible for the cabinetry.

After touring several of these homes it became apparent that a flying bird is mandatory. We opted for a Canada goose by a local artist.
