Ron Kramer

Ron Kramer Alderman Township of Wainfleet Nov 2006- Nov 2010

I was born in St. Thomas, Ont. and moved to Port Colborne in my 1st year, as this area is where my family arrived in Canada in the 1830's.

I attended Vimy School and Welland High & Vocational School, and Dom Kraft Electronics School.

While attending Vimy school after school I worked at Colonial Lighting on Knoll St, where I learned sheet metal work, making copper fixtures for driveways and church light fixtures.

I joined the RCAF in 1963 and was stationed in Air Force Headquaters in Ottawa as a communications opperator, and then in Trenton as a Airborne Radar systems Technician untill I left in 1968.

After serving in the RCAF for 5 years specializing in communications and electronics I left the armed forces to work with my dad at Triangle Plastics Ltd. Port Colborne. Upon my father’s retirement in 1983 I took over the business, and continue to operate it to closeing in 2009.

While employed at Triangle Plastics I also operated my own businesses, The Communications Centre (sales and service of CB and Amateur Radio equipment), and Triangle Computer and Hobby Store (sales and service of computer equipment and paintball supplies).

My wife Ruth and I moved to Wainfleet and have resided at 10842 Rathfon Road (lot 8 Con 1) since 1973.

Ruth (RN GNCC) and I, have two sons, and one granddaughter, and one grandson. Our sons Randy and Ryan are both employed in Wainfleet.

My interests include Amateur Radio (Ham Radio) since 1961, and I was very active in the Welland County Amateur Radio Club serving in various executive positions until the club closed in 2005. Ruth and I are also Members of the ARES (Amateur Radio Emergency Service), which has a licensed Amateur Radio station in each Hospital in the Niagara Region, with trained operators to send and receive medical messages under emergency conditions, and we take part in simulated emergency tests at the Port Colborne General Hospital.

In 2009 I went to Niagara College and got my M2 motorcycle licence and bought a 2003 Harley-Davidson which I ride as often as possible weather providing.

In the fall of 2009, I retired myself, and now get in Ruth's hair.
