Smithville United Church Welcomes You ! ! Our History Smithville United Church has its roots grounded in Christian Ministry since 1791. Rev. Darius Dunham, of the Methodist Episcopal Church, began the “class” that has become the Smithville United Church Family today. Our Methodist history carries a strong emphasis on the transforming power of the Holy Spirit. Awaiting you at Smithville United Church is a spirit of warmth, friendship and love - the same Spirit that has transformed the lives of many throughout our history.   The Smithville United Church Congregation is a growing, vibrant family of faith reaching out to one another and the community in the Spirit of Christ’s command to “Love one another, as I have loved you.” A warm welcome awaits you as we join together in our common journey of deepening, personal faith in Jesus Christ.
