The Art of Prayer

The Art of Prayer, a course for women, was held at St. Giles in April and May 2007. The participants discovered ways to connect to God, to themselves and to each other through art, music and drama. Led by Irma Bull, the women encouraged and supported each other and had a lot of fun in the process. One woman wrote: "The first half hour I was unsure of the direction but soon began to enjoy the whole experience." Learning to trust God and sharing this with each other was a journey of faith.

Bible Studies Christian Education Ministry

  • We have a Friday Morning Bible study that is open to all and meets at 10 a.m till 11:30 a.m.
  • We discuss the passages that will be used on Sunday. It is a great way to get a jump start on the upcoming Sunday’s sermon and deepens your knowledge of the meaning of the Bible passages.
  • This led by Rev. Theijsmeijer, or an elder.
  • You can also join a small group bible study discussion at someone’s home. This is a more informal learning time and they can cover a wide range of books of the bible or other bible discussions.

Sunday School

The Sunday school meets at the same time as church, 10 a.m. and goes from the Toddlers (who are ages 2,3, and 4) to the Kindergarten class (ages 4&5), to the Grade 1,2,3 class and then the grade 4,5,6 class. They teach the children, Bible knowledge, Christian music, and personal faith development. We also teach a sharing spirit(missions) by having them do projects that help out others outside of the church, such as with FACS, or the Raft.

Youth group

We continue to have a youth group for high School aged students. They also meet every other Sunday during Church time to talk about relevant topics to them. They also have fun times together on a regular basis as well as get together with youth from other churches.

College and Career group

When we can get enough college or young career people, ( in their late teens to early twenties) together we have a group for this special time of life. There are many challenges to our life style and values during these years that creep in to choke out your faith and/or worship life. Call if you would like to be part of this kind of group.
