he Peace of Christ Window This
phrase, "Peace Be With You", comes from Luke
24:36 when Jesus appears to the disciples after His
resurrection from the dead. His hope is for them to
find new faith and joy in the knowledge of God's faithfulness
regarding His promises to them.
In the window, Jesus has welcomed the children who
are representative of the various parts of the world.
The window also depicts soldiers from various areas
and eras in the history of the world who have sought
peace through armed conflict. As they look to Jesus
they realize that the way of Christ is the way of
Love, and not the way of violence and destruction.
They lay down their weapons and reflect on the One
who is the Way, the Truth and the Life.
We are deeply appreciative
and thankful for the talent and resources put toward this project
which both glorifies the sanctuary and calls God's people to
discover the "Peace of Christ".
We also display other beautiful works of stained glass in the sanctuary. An example of which, is on the left of this text. | |
