South End St.Catharines
The South end, including an area referred to as Glenridge, has a fine reputation for nice established homes on shady tree-lined streets. Mostly older, distinguished homes grace this area, although there is some new development, such as high-rise condos and town-homes. The huge shopping centre, called The Pen, is located here. There are excellent schools in the area, and Burgoyne Woods has a public pool as well as picnic facilities. Brock University is located in this area on the brow of the escarpment. Housing choices range from apartments, simple bungalows to sprawling executive homes.
