The year of the infamous Stan Javier controversy. Rookie manager Paul Kafka
had traded Javier to both Cleveland and E.Aurora, causing a stir. Both trades
were voided, and Kafka quit midway through the season. St. Louis and
East Aurora dominated during the regular season with their explosive
offenses. The Indians blew a 4-0 9th inning lead in Game 4 of the World Series
en route to a 4 games to 2 Cardinals Series win, their 3rd straight.
