1. Make sure the antenna connector is on snuggly.       Do NOT over tighten and do NOT cross thread!

  2. Plug power supply into an emergency power AC outlet

  3. Turn power supply on and then wait ten (10) seconds before switching the radio on. The rule of thumb is:

Turn off everything powered by the supply before switching the supply on OR off.

  4. Set radio to desired frequency (see chart), all frequency change instructions will be by the channel numbers shown on the chart.

  5. Please do adjust the volume and squelch controls to suit the operating conditions, but please do not experiment (or otherwise diddle) with the other controls.

  6. When finished operating, turn the radio off FIRST, then turn off power supply, remove ac power plug from emergency power outlet. Return the radio & power supply to the secure storage, make certain the door is locked, return the key to hospital staff member (Make note of to whom and at what date & time you returned the key).

  7. Do NOT remove this instruction manual from this site. It is the property of the hospital. If it is removed, then the next operator will not have the required information for proper operation of the station during an emergency.

  8. Please read the manual of operations and become familiar with ARES methods.. Also, please go through the transceiver instruction manual to become familiar with the unit. If there is anything you do not understand, then please make a note of what it is and we can arrange for some instructions & explanation at a later date.
