Configuring your E-Mail Client
Our newest software
installation packages install Internet Mail as your E- Mail client.
There are full instructions on the CD-ROM for configuring Internet
Mail and is located in the \docs directory under the appropriate
Operating System. You can download the full manuals from this
site as well. We have:
These manuals are in
self-extracting .EXE format. Download them to your computer,
run the file and you will have the Software Setup Manuals in Word
6.0 format. If you do not have Word for Windows 3.1, you can download
the Microsoft
Word Viewer (1.235 MB). If you have Windows 95/98, you can
view the documentation using Word Pad, which comes with Windows
95/98.
If you do not want
to use Internet Mail, or are having problems with Internet Mail,
we recommend using Eudora Light Version
3.06 which is an excellent E-Mail client.
The configuration of
Internet Mail, Eudora and most other E-Mail clients is basically
the same. You will be asked for the following configuration information:
- SMTP Server: mail.vaxxine.com
- POP3 Server: pop.vaxxine.com
Some E-Mail programs,
such as Internet Mail will ask you for an Account Name
which would be the first part of your E-Mail address (before the
'@' (at) symbol). Eudora will ask for your POP Account, which
is your complete E-Mail address. You may also have to fill in
your Return Address, which, again is your full E-Mail address.
Each program is slightly
different in the way that it works, but the configuration is basically
the same.
Common Problems and
Error Messages
The two major E-Mail
programs that we support are Internet Mail (Microsoft) and Eudora
Light, or Pro (Qualcomm). The following are common error messages
from Eudora (Version 1.5.4 and above). The same types of errors
may occur under Internet Mail, with slightly different wording:
| Problem: |
Solution: |
| Everytime you check your mail,
it asks for your password. |
Click Tools, then Options. Click
the Checking Mail category and click the Save Password
option. Click OK . |
| There has been an error transferring
your mail. I said: PASS and the POP server said: ERR Password
supplied for username is incorrect. |
You must have entered your password (or username)
incorrectly. Check your settings under the Tools and
Options menu. |
| There has been an error in
transferring your mail. I said: DATA and then the SMTP server
said: 503 Need RCPT (recipient). |
This means that you have a nickname (or an entry
in your address book) set-up without a corresponding E-Mail
address. |
| There has been an error transferring
your mail. Unable to process from lines (envelope). |
One possibility is that you were disconnected.
If so, try again. Sometimes you will experience problems when
trying to download large E-Mail attachments. E-Mail is not
designed to be used to transfer large attachments. You may
need to call or write to Technical Support to solve this problem. |
| Messages that you have sent
are being returned. |
This means that you may have mis-typed the address
of the person that you are sending to, or their reply-to E-Mail
address may not have been set correctly. The message that
you get back will detail the problem, but it is sometimes
hard to understand. You can forward the message to help@vaxxine.com
and we will try to assist. |
Most other issues can
be solved via E-Mail, if you can send E-Mail to our Technical
Support department. If not, you will have to call
Technical Support to help resolve your difficulties.
