Announcing Vaxxine's Virus
Blocker Service
We're offering this free service to Vaxxine
clients in order to help you prevent Viruses, Worms, Trojans
and other malicious beasts from breaching your computer. The
best part is that this new service, called the Virus Blocker (how
imaginative), is very easy to use!
What
is it?
This software is part of Vaxxine's Spam
Blocker service.
This software runs seamlessly in the background, monitoring your email
for known signs of Spam, Viruses and other malicious code, and can prevent
them from ever reaching your computer. The
software is already installed on our server, so there is NO NEED for you
to install anything!
How
does it protect your computer?
The vast majority of computer viruses are spread through Email.
Because the Virus Blocker is integrated with our Spam Blocker, each incoming Email is scanned for potential viruses.
It is important to note that this software will identify Viruses, Worms,
Trojans and other malicious software that arrive VIA
EMAIL ONLY.
As such, it's not meant as a replacement for dedicated Antivirus software
and/or common-sense computer security practices. Learn
more about computer security.
How
do you use it?
The
Virus Blocker is a tool that is totally integrated
with our Spam Blocker service. Therefore, if you
are already using Vaxxine's
Spam Blocker, you're automatically protected
by the Virus Blocker! If you are not currently using our Spam
Blocker and wish to have your computer protected by the Virus
Blocker, then please visit the Spam
Blocker page, provide your
username and password, set your preferences, and you're all set.
In other words, the Virus blocker is turned on whenever you enable
the Spam Blocker. Therefore, if you turn off the Spam
Blocker, you are also disabling Vaxxine's Virus Blocker. We recommend
keeping it enabled for protection from both SPAM and Viruses!

| Disclaimer:
The Virus Blocker works by carefully examining the header and message body
of all incoming messages, looking for the usual characteristics of
Viruses and other Malware. If the message contains enough of these,
the message is considered a Virus, and will be filtered. During our
testing this filter caught about 95% of all Viruses and other Malware
entering a mailbox. This Virus Blocker MAY POSSIBLY detect valid mail as a virus, however this
is very unlikely. Vaxxine assumes no liability whatsoever for the rare
case where a valid email may be identified as
a virus, or where the Virus Blocker fails to recognize a Virus or other
Malware. The Virus Blocker is an effective measure to aid in combatting
viruses and other Malware, but is NOT a suitable replacement for a
full-fledged Antivirus tool. We recommend that you still scan your
system regularly with a dedicated, up-to-date Antivirus
software program. |
