Lake Qaraoun on the Litani River in the Beqaa Valley, was created by the El Wauroun Dam in the late 50's. The level fluctuates greatly during the year and rises during the winter rain.
The Lake Qaraoun reservoir is used for boating, recreation, irrigation and hydro electrictric power generation.
The Holy Spirit University of Kaslik (USEK), is a private Catholic university in Mount Lebanon, founded in 1950 by the Lebanese Maronite Order. USEK is multilingual but French is the most common language at the university.
